La 72* edición de los premios Emmy se realizó en un formato distinto, debido a la pandemia del Covid-19. El animador de este año, Jimmy Kimmel, presentó unos premios sin público y casi sin invitados, pero a los que no les faltó glamour. En cuanto a las premiaciones, destacó la serie candiense “Schitt’s Creek”, al convertirse en la primera serie en ganar todos los Emmy en su categoría en el mismo año. Por otro lado, las producciones de Netflix y HBO continuaron el dominio de los últimos años.
